Heartfelt solidarity with the hundreds of protestors mass-arrested yesterday in Montreal, after being first kettled then told to disperse when there was no way left for them to do so. And thank you to the journalists who decided not to leave the kettle when given the opportunity, but to stay put and report what was really going on.

For people arrested who got tickets in Montreal and who want us to defend you, this is what you have to do: 1. Sign and contest your ticket, indicating the date and checking off not guilty [“non-coupable”]. Don’t write anything else. No explanations, no reasons—it only helps the prosecution prepare itself better. 2. Send it to the municipal court. [Cour municipale, Case postale 11046 Succ. Centre-Ville, Montréal (Québec) H3C 4Y2] 3. But first, scan your ticket and send it to us at poitrasdenis at gmail dot com with your phone number and your version of the facts. If you don’t have access to a scanner, you can fax it to 514-289-1729. 4. Do not publish your side of the story elsewhere! [Facebook, YouTube, wherever] You will get news from the Montreal Municipal Court in 6 months or more. We will put together a closed discussion list for all the people accused in order to organise a joint trial, examen different possible defenses, talk about financing, etc. Please do not call us right now. I was so fucking close to getting arrested last night, but some of my friends were not as lucky as me to escape the kettle. So much solidarity and love their way!
